ok, so I have a connection to another comp in my house, thats all fine, but one day I went out and brought a pci network card from maplin and put it in and installed it but when i put in the ethernet wire thingy it wasent recognized and no lights on the card, but one thing that is bothering me is there is another wire, a tiny yellow one which I dont know where it goes or if it is needed. There is nothing about this in the manualso I am just wondering if anyone knows what to do?

Another wire from where? Did it come from the NIC card box? I dont think you have to plug a NIC card into your motherboard with a "yellow" wire... If it came with your NIC card look at the instructions that came with it. It will most likly tell you if you have to plug that wire in.

I bought a D-Link NIC and it came with a little two-wire....wire.. not sure the color of it.... but I didnt plug it in anywhere and my network card is running like a champ. I'd say dont worry about it and try without it.. ;)
