Gigabit at Megabit?

I currently have broadband internet. My network is set up as the following:

-> = way the "internet" goes

Modem (Terayon) -> Phone Adapter with Router (Linksys) -> Wireless Router w/ 4 cable ports (NETGEAR) -> Computer

My problem is that I own a Gigabit card (not wireless; NETGEAR) but my connection is only at 100mb/s. On the box, where my card came, it said the ideal setup would be:

Modem -> Phone Adapter with Router (in my case) -> Router -> Switch (10/100/1000) -> Computer

The netgear router only goes up to 240mbps. But if I plug in the switch before the router would I get 1gbps instead of the 240mbps?

My computer will be hooked to the switch. The wireless router is just there for my dad's laptop.

This thread really doesnt make any sense. What is a wall hub? What exactly are you talking about for this entire thread. Maybe it would make sense if you restructured it and explained this in depth more.

Lol. Idk what it's called in English. I know what it is called in portuguese. Not a wall hub. Appologies. Is it called a wall jack??

Around here it is call a wall jack, yes. SO I'm going to assume it is elsewhere too and not just a weird Wisconsin thing (like bubbler).

Oh ok thanks. Now does any1 know whether my hypothesis would work or not?
