Hey.
I have this modem:

And this router:

I'm having some problems connecting via PPoE when using the router. I have the modem hooked into the uplink port on the router and the computer hooked into the first port. there is also an xbox 360 hooked up to the router.
anybody have any idea how I could get this working?

Need more details about "problems connecting via PPPoE".

What are you having problems with. Are you using the right username/password. Call your ISP to have them verify you are setting it up correctly.

i'm using the right username and PW for sure.
the router seems to have a problem communicating with the modem.

Again, call the ISP. Sometimes they have to update the MAC address in the filter on their end to allow the router to receive the signal.

oh come on man! unplug everything. Plug the modem into the WAN port, not the uplink. plug everything back in

Uplink and WAN are generally interchangable....

Doens't your ISP provide a modem for you? I thought most did.

The ISP supplied me with the modem in the picture.
I have tried both WAN and uplink.
I have pretty much given up, i'm almost sure it's the modem that is the problem. I have set up networks similar to this before with no problems. The only thing that has changed is the modem.

it might be the power adapter im using for the router.

have you tried connecting the modem directly into your computer? also, you are turning off the modem and router for a good 30 seconds each time you change stuff around right?
