Best high gain antenna? Wifi antenna?

Ok, Having intermittent connection problems, trying to connect from a granny flat, coming from the main house. I have tried the airlink usb 12dbi antenna, a halking omi-directional un-powered antenna, ebay 12" antenna.... Nothing has worked fully..... What is a better route antenna wise? Any suggestions?

Um... looking for more help then that.... there are expensive antenna's $50-$200, so what is a tested working good Antenna? Thought this was a computer forum?
