Default Allo Allo

Hi,

I'm Lil and totally suck at introductions.

I will probably annoy the hell out of all of you with stupid questions which have obvious answers! I'm rather new to computing and suddenly developed and interest when I applied for an internal vacancy in IT with the company I work for and some how got it.

I like bacon, cheese, chocolatem pancakes and pokemon.

I love gaming, be it on PC or on Xbox and have a very keen interest in RPG's and the Elder Scrolls (to the point I have an Oblivion tattoo).

I enjoy general sci-fi; if it has a FTL drive, a jump drive or is in space and moves rather fast then I'm all over it. I particulalry like Battlestar Galactica (the new one), Star Trek Enterprise and Voyager, Star Wars and most other things that fall into categories like these.

Umm, I can't really think of anything else now!

Any way, 'Hi!'

Splendid! Hopefully you like bacon too?

I've been attempting to find a decent sci-fi series too entertain myself as nothing is really taking my interest at the moment. Any suggestions?

"Are you kidding???" I love bacon..

As far as suggesting a new series, I don't have any ideas. I like the old Stargate series, those were awesome. I don't watch that much TV as I used too. I spend way too much time on my computer.

I LOVE Stargate! Only SG1 and Atlantis though. I tried to watch universe (that's the one with Robert Carlyle, yes) and thought it was crap. It's such a shame they got stopped, but I suppose SG1 had a fair few seasons and there's only so many bad religious guys you can have I guess.

Yes, the SG-1 series was the bomb. I really liked the movie too, I thought it was very well done. I don't know if the movie AVITAR counts as a sci-fi category but I loved that movie.

I'm patiently waiting for part 2 to come out to theaters.

Yeah the movie was ace, I would have preferred for Richard Dean Anderson to be in it rather than Kurt Russel, but then you probably needed someone who could actually play a serious role in the film. I liked the little 'movies' throughout the series like the Ark of Truth etc.

I didn't enjoy Avatar, I only watched it for Sigourney Weaver and was just left with bitter disappointment. Not as bitter or as disappointing as Prometheus though; seriously, what the hell was that other than 130 minutes of pretty much nothing only for all the interesting bits to be shoved in at the end and for basically no Aliens in it?

Tell you what I did enjoy, which I didn't think I would: Pacific Rim.

It shouldn't be a problem, it's a very short list.

I'm loving the new Star Trek movie series, the last one INTO THE DARKNESS was an awesome movie. I think they did a good job at picking the characters to play the part of captain Kirk & his crew.

I've actually not seen the Stark Trek movies, I was concerned that they would ruin them. I have heard good things about them though and thought that I might give them a go but I'm not sure.

By the way, I added a profile pic but it doesn't appear to be displayed but it shows when I go to the UCP. Does this happen for everyone?

If i was you i would definetly see the new Star Trek series, I don't think you will be dissapointed.

As for your profile pic, just go into your User CP and then go to edit avitar, and use custom avitar, and upload a pic from your computer.

Edit: If it doesn't work, it might be that you have to have a minimum of 25 posts to upload custom avitar i think.

I think the first one is on Netflix so I might give it a watch tonight then. If it's not crap I'll download the second one

The number of posts things would probably have something to do with it :s

I used to be so addicted to netflix, I was watching more documentaries than i was watching Movies.

I loved watching HOWS IT MADE series, I love how they make stuff. It was like being right there in the factory.

Yes, i think once you get a certain amount of posts you can upload a pic of your choice.

Tell me about it! I used to have love film and I watched so much junk It was ridiculous. Then I migrated to Netflix and just watch rubbish on there. I even watched this 'documentary' about Steve Jobs - I don't even like Apple products!

Haha, that's funny...

I don't have Netflix anymore, now I just watch lots of documentaries on Utube.

Mostly space docs catch my attention, and stuff like that. I think the last one I watched was about traveling faster than the speed of light & what it would be like if you could.

I watched one last night about the speed of light; they stated that the sun is the largest black object I'm our solar system but I don't think that's true. I think the reason why it doesn't reflect light It because it emits so much light It physically can't where as I thought a black object was classed as something which is too dense to reflect the light particles?...It just made me confused and they didn't explain it fully :/

Ya, I usually take their opinions with a grain of salt. Although i do have to say they have tons of good documentaries out there. I like the ones about Time Travel. Like the real doc about the Philadelphia Experiment where two of the crew members traveled to the future.
