At my sixth form we are allowed to use our own laptops, we have just worked out how to connect tot he network and get internet - using a certificate. The certificate must be installed to the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" store in order to work, this is fine on both vista and xp machines. However the problem occur when actually connecting, vista laptops ask you for you username, password and logon domain, this comes up in a small window, the xp laptops do nothing and just continue to try to connect. Any ideas on how to get this prompt up in xp? Thanks for any help.

go to your wireless network connections tab and then to preferred network.
make sure the desired network is selected. also make sure in the properties ta that the correct network key type is selected.

hope it helps.

Thanks, I luckily don't have the problem on my laptop (vista ultimate 64-bit :p) its one of my mates, there is no wep/network key for this network, its login details - username, password etc.
