Worth the upgrade?

I am currently running this, but I want to add one of these to my system. I know that uneven memory like that and memory from different brands isn't stable and/or slows it down, but does it detriment it that much?

As of now, the bid is at 50 bucks for this, and I don't know if it is worth my $ to upgrade like that. Should I just save and buy another set of the first one (or a 2x1 GB set if I have enough $)?

I have a feeling it would be better if you bought a new set of RAM. The Kingston one looks totally different than the one you have. The only thing that's the same is the fact that both of them are DDR2, that's about it. I wouldn't be surprised if there were compatibility issues.

I would advise against that purchase. It is a slower speed than you current memory (DDR2 800 vs. DDR2 400 of the Kingston). You would be better off saving your money for a matching set of A-DATA. :D

Oh, I didn't realize that was DDR2 400. On the ebay thing it said DDR2 800, stupid liars. Thanks for the help.
