wireless router

i have a netgear wirless router and connects to aol internet no problem but my freind has just bought a 3com router to connect to aol but hes having problems so i have tried it myself i have no problem logging on to router wired or wireless but it will not connect to aol.i have put username and password for aol and even copied some of the settings from my own router but it still will not connect to aol.has anyone got a 3com wirless router who can help.

AOL is a funny supplier, and only some routers work with it. That router must not be compatiable.

And Voodoo Child, can you please not post cr*p which is no help and just a waste of space!
