Now I need your help.

I can't figure it out, and there's no partitions or anything.

For some reason in WinXP Pro when I install it, it only shows up 128 GB's of free space, and I have a SATA hdd.

But when I install Win7 on it, it shows in its install that I have a parition.

But when I look at the WinXP setup, it shows it has no seperate parition.

Neither if I do it by going to Admin Tools and so forth in WinXP. Any help?

I'm pretty sure that prior to SP1 (or perhaps it was 2?) there was a limit of around that amount. So yes - definitely grab all the service packs, that should solve your problem.

That definitely sounds like a service pack issue. I used to have a cap like that when I was installing it on my 640GB drive until I had upgraded to i believe it was SP3.

Nope. Sorry for the long response, one of my servers went down.

It's in SP3, all the latest updates. BIOS reports it as SATA, I can't figure out the problem.

EDIT: But if BIOS has it in IDE mode, wouldn't the whole Win7 thing be in void?
