OK, I have nlite...and I'll make my own Windows XP CD. Now, how can I inplement applications (Firefox, Thunderbird, etc) to be automatically extracted from the CD and automatically installed?

I don't know about automaticly installed. But do this

For the OS: Right click on the cd, and explore it. Select all, and drag to blank Cd.

For Firefox: Go to Program Files, select all, and then, drag to blank cd.

For thunderbird: Same as firefox

Make sure to get them in the right destination in the Hard drive. For Firefox, and thunderbird. That should work.. I hope I explained it well enough..

No, that's not what I mant. I meant:

When you install XP and it's at100%...before going to the secnd step, It is set to be like, Setup is loading some files and saving some before restarting. Well, there is a post-install that will just auto-extract the installation files...Like

Saving Configuration
