Windows proxy-WIERD!!, KazaaLite or Limewire w/ proxy

Alright guys, I have two problems.
1.) This one is my girlfriend's. She connects to her ISP via dialup. Everything works except that the dialup properties keep switching so it tries to use a proxy server. Then Internet Explorer doesn't work. After manually setting it to no proxy server, it works fine until restarting the computer. What is causing this?
2.) After fiddling with her proxy server crap, I got the great idea to put the internet in my room for my dialup (i have no phoneline in my room). I did this using wireless connection stuff and a freeware proxy program. All works great, except neither KazaaLite or Limewire will connect, even after adjusting the proxy settings. Any ideas?

First thing I would recommend reinstalling the Proxy Settings; by removing them in the Add/Remove Application Tool on Windows Options. Uninstall all Internet Options, including Internet Explorer, then reinstall them - make sure you have your Windows CD before this. If that doesn't work - try using the ISP's CD to install the Internet Connection itself.

On that; its really not worth the Wireless Bother just for a Dialup connection. I would recommend buying some phone cable and running it up to your room.
