Windows 98 Big Problem!

Ok so my brother got a pc with windows 98 on it awhile ago.today I got rid of a bit of spyware and such. Later in the day we turned it on and it wanted a registration code. So I looked online and found one. Once we got on the desktop all it was, was a white screen. So we tried several times and all we got was a white screen (you could also see the mouse). Then an error message comes up saying internet explorer closed.....anyone know how to fix this?

Ok so now theres a new problem. I can't find the instalation disk..

okok hate to put you in the poo, but when when it asked for a (presumably you meant acitivation code?) then you looked online....possibly alittle illegal didnt know m/s posted windows98 activation codes on the internet.:S

thats only becuase I think I threw out the registration number..what else could I do? But anyways thats not really helping....anyone know what I can do
