upgrading the 4 year old black Friday Lap top.....
HP Pavillion ze2000

I took it up to 2G of ram and that helped.
if I replaced the old hard drive with a new larger 7200rpm one, would I notice any real speed increase?

I am in no real danger of filling it, I have externals and another computer. strictly for speed, is it worth the $70.00 for a new one? and will this one work?

also, can I upgrade the cpu? is it worth it?

yes, you will notice a big difference from a 5400 to 7200.... just make sure you have sufficient cooling bro

The biggest jump in the world (JK) in my opinion. But still a large speed increase.

my lowest score on my laptop for the windows experience thingy is the hard drive.... it drags down my system

ya ur jump will be pretty noticeable, cant wait for the 10k or even the hp 15k HDD's to go down to a normal affordable price

yeah, but they wont figure out how to get sufficient cooling to a 10k rpm drive for a laptop....

what you should REALLY be looking forward to is for SSD's to go down in price - ssd's are the way of the future
