Will a 24.4v battery plugged into 19.6v receptical damage laptop?

For hurricane season here in Florida I made an external battery pack for a
Toshiba Satellite 1750 from two 12v sealed lead cells and plugged it into
the power connector usually occupied by 19.6v AC adapater. The computer
works. Wil extended use damage the laptop?
