Why tie?

Finished my first build a few weeks ago. The first good gaming computer I've had. Too anxious to play, so I didn't tie down cables; just plugged everything in and put panels on. It has a back panel where most of the cords live, a spaghetti warren.

Should we go back and tie them down or is it only an aesthetic consideration?

Depends on where they are. If the cable foo is out of the direct flow of air, it's only aesthetics. If you have a rats nest that's hindering air flow, that is an issue.

Def tie for airflow. Some people just like there case to look really nice. But the more space you have for direct airflow the better. I would go back and tie them down just for good house cleaning. Check your temps now and then tie them down and check your temps once, just an idea to see if it will actually do something in your case.

Well then it should be alright. not much airflow goes around the back of the mobo so im sure your not going to see a difference in temps or anything.
