Whats Wrong With My Touchpad?

Hi, sometimes my touch pad works, and most of the time it does not.

Yes I have installed the correct drivers, and the touch pad still wont come up under Device Manager.

It works after I have restarted my PC about 7 times, then on next restart - fails.

Anyone?!

Specs: XP PRO!!!!! 1.5GB RAM, 1.73 Intel Celeron M CPU Comapq Presario C700 Laptop

Have you tried resetting the computer to its factory settings or something like?

Reinstall the touch pad drivers as your sound like it is corrupted.

Worked... so far

Still have not had an issue to date, I just "forced" installing the drivers.

I would dare say reinstalling the drivers fixed your problem.

Thats what I said to myself, but installing up to date drivers seemed to work. Some times thats is what fixes most hardware issues in my case.
