I installed Vista on my comp, and after install I still had xp on there also.
So it gave me the choice of which system I wanted to run. They are both on 2 seperate drives. I tried to format the drive but when I go to start my computer I still get the which operating system do you want to load. Then after I chose XP i get, Invalid ini file. Xp will load I just need to get rid of Vista at the load screen.

Ive decided I just want to stick to XP Vista just my taste right now. Thanks for any help.

If I understand correctly, you want to keep XP right?

Assuming I am right, put in your XP recovery CD and boot off of it. At the first screen type "r". Then when the command-prompt like screen emerges, type "fixboot" when it prompts if you are sure you want to continue, press "y". When that is done type "fixmbr". When that's done, eject the CD and restart.

there is an easier way ...
Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG
Select the Boot.ini tab
Click Check All Boot Paths button

When it finds the invalid Vista entry it will ask you if you wish to delete the entry. Click YES and it should be fixed
