Video Ram Question

I have a Compaq Presario CQ62-238DX and everywhere I see an AMD Athlon II laptop with the same video card it says "Feature up to 1405MB total graphics memory for lush details" how do I change how much ram my video uses?? Usually it's in the bios but there is nothing about changing how much ram the video uses.
