Video card question

Well, I am soon upgrading my video card.

I was reccommended by someone to get the 7800gt or 7900gt instead of the 7600gt which I was originally planning on.

My dad said he would pay for the card (7600gt) if I got good grades. So I took into consideration of getting what the person reccommended me (7800gt or 7900gt) and I will pay about 100 dollars more for the 7900gt.

I am on newegg, and the 7900gt is actually less expensive than the 7800gt. But the 7800gt is coming with a 20 dollar rebate so it will be cheaper. The 7900gt seems worth the 20 extra dollars so I actually think I will get the 7900gt.

My questions are...
Will the 7900gt bottleneck my AMD athlon 64bit venice core socket 939?
And will it be able to run on a 400 watt power supply?

i wouldnt get that card, ati x1900xt is much more powerfull so i would go with that and i think u will need a psu, 500W would be good and im not sure about the cpu bottlenecking it, what speed is the cpu?

It is 1.79ghz.

And the X1900XT is more expensive.

how much more? i havent checked, dont look at the clocks, the 1900xt has 48! pixel shaders, way more than the 7900gt, and it does better in most benchmarks so its obviously more powerfull, if u have the money get the 1900xt if not then go with the 7900gt
