Video Card Fans

Can they be replaced?

My up and coming rig will have a good amount of air moving, but these babies run hot, especially when I get that second one in there.

yes your current Heatsink will come off.. its either held by screws or plastic pieces from the back .. then the new one will go in place..

I see, I wonder how well they fit now because of all the casing they're adding to new cards,

well the casing of the 8800 will have to be removed.. and you cant use that with these fans.. but other then that no problem..

Well by taking the plastic crap off, I assume isn't going to be harmful

Taking the plastic isn't harmful but I would wait and see what another CF member would say as I have never replaced the fan or taken a casing off of a 8800 .. just to be on the safe side.
