Hi everyone! I have formatted my Dell Inspiron 6400 and installed a fresh copy of XP Home on to it. No service packs, no updates, nothing special. The only problem with no service packs, no update and no nothing special means that upon connecting to the internet, spyware was on located on my HDD within 5 minutes!

I have now installed McAfee Personal Firewall (VERY temporary solution) and Ad-Aware, SpyBot and Hijackthis. Ad-Aware and Spybot found some files and I deleted them, the only problem is, their is still a spyware presence. Whenever I visit a site that normally doesn't have any popups, I get bombarded with full screen, no exit popups (gladly none are downloading anything, just adverts). I have run numerous scans etc but I still can't get this resolved, I even updated to SP1 (I am NOT updating to SP2).

Also, Personal Firewall keeps on telling me that "VRT6.tmp" is trying to connect to the internet, I have deleted this numerous times but it keeps on coming back!!!

Any ideas???!!!
Any will be very much appreciated!!! Thanks, James.
