Use of PuTTY

Ive heard using putty is illegal in some countries. Is it illegal in U.S.

word, I used putty all the time in college to connect to our VAX Workstation cluster to do Assembly Programming.

Yeah we have a unix server that I have to connect to to program on. I always just thought that putty was a ssh client that only my school used, never realized it was widely used. learn something new every day.

Putty isn't illegal in the United States. I use it all the time at my work to shell into our Linux boxes on a daily basis.

Dont think its illigal in the UK, I was using it here at work while working on a linux box soooo... I hope not anyway!

Their's a US law against exporting software th at uses encryption to US trade restricted countrys (Libya, Cuba, Iraq, etc). I think this is the law he is thinking of.
