i recieve an dell xps 1530 laptop a while back.

it has 2gb ram but a T5450 @ 1.66GHz

i was wanting to upgrade this, i am fairly tech just not in computers that much. i was wanting advice on which cpu is compatible with my laptop (curently running bios A12) also is there any guides on how to do it( i do have a slight idea but it is always nice to follow some pictures:D ) and i do understand it will void my warrenty but i can just put the old one back and send it off right;)

thanx for any infomation you can give me in advance

you can change a CPU on a laptop, but it is HIGHLY unrecommended because

1. Voids warrenty

2. you might mess something up

3. you would destroy a perfectly good laptop

ok so if iam wanting for the laptop to have a bit more of a kick (in speed) just adding more ram will do you think?

it depends on the Operating system

XP=2GB performance boost

Vista=4GB performance boost
