trouble undoing raid1

i have 2 HDs with a raid1 setup, but when i go into the BIOS and disable the raid setup, neither drive can boot properly. i can get to the screen with windows loading (windows icon and that little progress bar thing) and then it promptly flashes a blue screen with some error message for like 1/100 of a second as if i'm supposed to be able to read it and then it reboots. it does this with both of the drives. has anyone encountered this or know what is causing it?
any help is appreciated.

try just using one hd drive as a master drive, make sure that the jumpers on the back are set to make it a master drive. if it boots up windows then one of your hard drives may be incorrectly configured either in bios or one the ide cable/ sata cable, causing the reboot.

yep, i had that prob. before..i strung out three hd's in the comp. and the pc would'nt boot for nothing, after finding out two hd's were set as master. a comp. can only have one master drive, and all the rest of the hd's must be set as a slave drive..;)
