Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 Ram problem

Hi, according to internet my toshiba L300 PSLB1A-02C01E definitely accepts 4gb of ram. Currently I have 3gb installed, and so both slots are working fine. Whenever I try to install another 2gb of ram however it gets the blue screen and won't start up. It's not the ram either as have tried the other 2gb with the 1gb and it works fine. Any advice? Do you need two identical rams to make it operate? Would updating my bios help? any help appreciated. Cheers.

when installing memory it should be Identical matches for best performance and it depends what memory is excepted and this is govend by the motherboard.

thanks, i have tried the replacement ram separately and it works fine, so I guess it needs to be identical. cheers.
