For those of you with the NEC 3520A DVD Burner

I have a question, is there a firmware update, AND my dvd read says its at 6x only, this is using NERO, although its supposed to be 16x,

what program do you guys use to tell the speeds of all the aspects of the Drive.....thanks

also, did you download drivers?? thanks

I tried to, but I can't simulate it, and I'd rather not waste a DVD... I stuck an 8x in there, and it showed that it could burn at that speed... I burnt at 6.1x previously(I started to burn without a disk, so I had no speed selected. It tends to use rather low speeds, as it did the same with my CDRW...)


No drivers. I stuck mine in a firewire case(as well as tried it on IDE) and it worked flawlessly with no additional software. I dind't even have a DVD burner in the machine previously.
