Terminating a process

Hello.

Sometimes when I go into the task manager and tell it to terminate a process, it doesn't do it. Is there any other way to force-terminate it without restarting my computer?

If the process is a system process, it just cannot be shut down no matter what. What's the process you're trying to shut down?

I'm trying to shut down a media player.

I can usually shut it down, but this time it won't.

windows media player? or something else? I've had a similar problem w/ itunes, dunno what it is. Sometimes whatever program you use to get your music, you might have close that first before you can close whatever media player your using. I have that problem when I am running bearshare and itunes.
