The touchpad drivers that come with my computer don't give me the option to disable tap-to-click. Is it possible to get generic drivers that work with any touchpad? If not, is it possible to disable the touchpad altogether and just use a mouse?
It doesn't seem right to me for a laptop that came out in the last couple years not to have the tap to click function, if it has a touchpad. Try looking deeper in the menus of your driver software. Maybe download the latest drivers from the Dell website
In the drivers, there should be an option to turn off the touchpad as well, if there isn't a hardware button on the laptop to do so.
Great, I was able to disable "tap-to-randomly-destroy-entire-paragraphs-of-your-work." I think it was that driver that did it. You have no idea how much difficulty that feature causes me. I type a lot and you have to go over the touchpad to get to the keyboard, so I don't know what they were thinking when they came up with tap-to-click.
