SSD advise

I'm in the process of building my first rig. It is mainly going to be used for media. I have alot of music and a few movies. Well my question is I'm thinking of getting a SSD hard drive and don't know if I need a supplemental hd. If so how much?

The build so far:

CPU: phenom II x4

Ram: 8 gb ripjaws

this machine was tested with intels new 320 series the speed increase is about 30 seconds and the drive was 160GB for £200 around $300 i believe totally not worth it better off getting fast HDD and the putting the in a raid array
