Hi i'm upgrading my computer (number 1 on my sig). For now im just going to upgrade the mobo, ram and graphics card.

The motherboard is here
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144222
WHAT IS REALLY MENT BY THE SLI 3 x PCI Express x16 slots (white @ x16 mode, yellow @ x8 mode).
Can I have 3 cards running SLI? I doubt that alot

RAM:

Graphics Card (i dont want anything facny)
NEED NEW GRAPHICS CARD. See post below

Also, can anyone see any compatibility issues? It should all work fine together right?

For all about 145 squid (that's including next day P&P delivery)

Thanks :)

What will you be using the computer for? Also, your motherboard link actually links to the RAM you're after. I have the 2GB XMS2 kit from Corsair and it's good stuff, so you can't go wrong there. And that graphics card should also be fine.

I also need a new graphics card. I really want the MSI 7300GT Which is actually SLI ready, because I have another one of them. I cant find it anywhere in stock :(

I will be using my pc for programming work, school work, some games (like COH and Halflife 2).

Thanks :)

I wouldnt bother SLI'ing the two 7300GT's. I'd try and buy somthing like a single 8600GT. The 7300GT is pretty outdated.. The reason you cant find on, is because they are Discontinued.

You could proberbly do with thinking if you NEED the 4GB (Allthough it depends on the programming work you do). That's quite a lot, and a P4 with 4GB ram, is a bit of a bottleneck (maybe). I'd consider 2/3GB.

Also, What Socket is your P4? It doesnt say anything about supporting them on the motherboard spec (Allthough that doesnt mean it wont work) - I'd look into it, if i where you.

socket 775. I might be ripping an core 2 duo out of laptop possibly in the near future. Thought i'd get a 7300GT as my brother is upgrading from one in 2 months so i could have his old one and run SLI. Is it really not worth while buying another 7300GT? The cheapest I can find one it about 40 squid (that includes P&P) :( Can anyone find a cheap one.

if you scroll down my processor is the p4 650 (3.4ghz). So it says it supports it :) I hope to OC my P4 to 4ghz +.

It most certainly does mean that.

No

That board uses 650i chipset, if you're serious about utilising SLi you really should look to 780i chipset though this will depend a lot on your budget.

8400GS is not really a good card tbh, the 8800 series is end of life or will be shortly, so once again depending on budget, I'd be looking at one of those.

So let me just clarify I can run 3 PCI-E cards in SLI with this motherboard and it's less than 60 squid!?

-Cool-

Ermmm i'm not a great graphics man, so ill probaly just get 1 80 squid card. What type of cards are people recommending.

I might also purchase this swexy PSU http://www.ebuyer.com/product/120676 but not sure if it has enough molex connectors like.

does the 780i have a BIG increase over 650i?

I like this board because it's also got 3 PCI slots and lots spacious.

Im going to wait a few weeks before i buy buy buy.

780i and 790i support 3-way SLI, no other Nvidia chipset does.

doesn't the 600 series support it as well...? this is from the site...

"NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI media and communications processors (MCPs) are designed for extreme overclocking. With 3-way SLI technology, advanced overclocking capabilities, and support for ESA, the NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI is the foundation for the definitive enthusiast platform"...

straight from the Nvidia site
