Sound card not being recognized by windows.

Ok we have Mandrake linux on our computer we just installed windows xp home edition on our computer today and for some reason we cant listen to sound. so i looked a little into it and found out it is saying we have no sound card. But my sound works perfectly on linux... do i have to install it or something and if so can you like give me step by step instructions? im a bit of a noob so thanks in advance

Yeah. Download this program:

Its called Everest, and what it will do is tell you exactly what sound card you have. It'll more than likely be a onboard chip on your motherboard.

We can then find the righrt drivers for you.
