I am thinking of getting a new sound card for my computer, but i cant decide which one ther X-FI Pro or X-FI Fitality

here is the general link abouit the X-FI
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/multimedia/creative-x-fi.html

Elite Pro link
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Soun...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174065320&sr=1-1

$$269.42 (Price After Rebate: $199.42)

Fitality Link
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Soun...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174071526&sr=1-3

$190

After doing some research, in one of the revies, i found this,
""if you use ASUS update for you bios you will have to edit the registry to get it to work.""

What this all about...also will my 550W Powe Supply hande this?

I am a gamer + I watch Movies Which one do u think i shoild get, i mean Amazon offering a rebate on the "Elite" so after it the price will be the same as for the "Fitality"

Do anyone have any of this X-Fi cards....what should i do.

Thanks

I have the xtreme music version, yeah its not as expensive but i still have to say, beware of the awful drivers!! If u use the digital output on the card like it do, be prepared for it not to work when u boot into windows. No sound will come from the card until u disable and then re enable the digital output, its a pain! Such rubbish support for an expensive card. Someone has written a little fix for this, which i use (no creative fix tho!!) but i still get massively distorted and loud sounds from my speakers when i start windows sometimes, in fact so loud that im sure one day itll break them (if i forget to turn the speakers off on a reboot)

However the sound quality once its working is awesome!! especially in things like winamp which lets u enable 24bit playback. Not too many games supporthe t higher end of EAX at the moment, even the ones that do, imo dont sound too much different. As for FPS i noticed a small 1-2 increase, which isnt to be sniffed at!

As for which one u shud go for, its entirely personal choice, but if u can get the rebate, then perhaps the elite pro.

check this thread that i posted about x-fi cards:

http://www.computerforums.org/showthread.php?t=48975

its got some links you might want to read like the thousands of people pissed of with creative about their complete lack of support for people. but like anubis said it sounds great, when it works. i havnt had the digital out problem but i have had a little bit of the popping sound problem which i only really noticed on bf2. if you are a gamer then maybe you might want to go for the Fitality one it has that x-ram that might help to future proof it if any game producers decide to use it.

ty for a quick responce, il deff keep that in mind, ty.

Does anyone else haz anything to say?
