Sm Bus Controller Driver Needed

Hi, im on a Compaq Presario R3500 laptop, intel pentium 4

Ive been looking for the driver for the Sm Bus Controller for a while now and whatever i try doesnt seem to work.

This link seems to take me to exactly what i need.. but in my device manager it still says the driver is missing after installing the [INFINST_AUTOL.EXE] file.

Can anyone help me with this? any ideas?

Any ideas then? ... im pretty desperate to get this and the Base system device driver sorted out

Could anybody explain what they are actually for?.. im pretty certain an intel chipset will sort it out, but which chipset?
