Do I need this running on my taskbar?

http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e193/wilson92/vylhcvh.jpg

I know I need my driver but I was thinking that that is just the driver settings?

Its called :Intel(R) Graphics media accelerator driver.

So... Do I need that to run?

And also, I will be getting a new Vid card soon, is that what I uninstall before I install the new drivers?

thx

Yea, that's the applet for the video settings. It's not absolutely necessary to have running, but I don't think it hurts any having it up.

When you get you new card, you'll need to uninstall the current drivers, which will also remove the applet. :D

if you don't want it sitting there, you can always permently hide the icon too.

to put it simple no you dont need it there

but as previous poster said it doesnt really hurt to have it there

if you really dont want it there then

click start

then goto run

then type msconfig

click the startup tab

and remove the 1 that is located in C:/windows/system32/igfxtray.exe

click ok give it a reboot and it shudnt be there n e more

to keep it from comming up at all but still allow it to run, right click the empty space below the clock and click properties. On the screen that comes up, click the "customize" You can't miss it. It is the only button on that page.

Now find the program that you want to remove and highlight it. when it is highlighted a drop down menu will appear next to it. Drag it to "always hide" then click ok.
