screen help

hey I'm new here so if this isn't where this goes i'm sorry. I have a gateway solo 9550, and the screen went dark, so dark you cant see it. I change the inverter and it didn't help, then i changed the screen and that didn't help either. can someone please tell me what the problem is thanks.

Assuming it's running XP

try Control Panel -> Power Management and see how the screen backlights are configured.

i don't have an XP machine to hand...hang on lemme see if i can find one around here.

Well i dont have an XP laptop around, so i cant see the specific ACPI settings. Lemme google a bit for you.

yeah it comes up fine just like the screen was working.
