Safe Mode Help

Alright then, I've heard that safe mode is the best way to get rid of viruses, spyware etc., but for some reason I have never used, so I have a few questions:
1) How do I access it using Windows ME?
2) What exactly is it?
3) What differences can I expect using it?

When you turn on your computer press f8 on your keyboard and you will get boot options and you can choose safe mode.

Only boots up nessacary sofware to run the system so you wont be able to use alot of your applications.

taht dont work on my ME. Its F5 to go straight into safe mode
