Safe mode

Okay I have just bought a new pc and I want to know how to get into safe mode. I no it is normally F8 but I have tried that a few time now. any other possiblities it could be.

It SHOULD be F8, But you could try:

Turning the PC on, and when it gets to the XP/Vista loading screen, yank the power cable out (could be bad for the pc......). Next time you fire up the PC, it should take you to a menu saying "Windows failed to load... yadayadayada. Choose option 1 to go to safe mode" (or somthing similar)

Using a PS/2 Keyboard, as the drivers might not be loaded (this would be strange, as the BIOS normally controls the keyboards input right up to a sucessfull boot)

Some use different keys, a little more detail as to what the pc is would help enormously.

it was a barebon from novatech. the brand of the mobo is foxcon though.

Make sure you are tapping the f8 key and not just holding it down. You can also try this: If you can, Boot to windows normally, Go to Start>Run>type MSCONFIG>go to the BOOT.INI tab and check the "SAFE BOOT" box. Click ok and restart.
