I have an ABIT IS7 motherboard, with a 1 gig of Corsair XMS pc-3200 C2PT ram, a 6800 gt, and a pentium 4, NORTHWOOD, 3.2.
I ordered a computer for my sister and asked her if I can swap processors with her (her processor is a Pentium 4, PRESCOTT, 3.4). But i'm kind of having some problems....
Problem 1) I built her computer (I believe I did it right, after all, I've done it like 35 times by now) but it won't boot up, I tried swapping the power supply / ram / hard drive and even video card with my stuff, but nothing worked, I tried A LOT of different things and made sure everything was plugged in right, but still didn't work. So this kind of leads me to PROBLEM 2. my second problem is that I put the 3.4E in my ABIT IS7... but it loads up as 2.8. So I'm kind of putting 2 and 2 together and thinking that it's the processors that I swapped that got me this problem....
I could really use any some input - thanks in advance.
