Random Blue Screen

ok every 2 days or so i get a blue screen on my laptop while turning it on,

it will flick to the vista loading screen get just passed it then blue screen but it only flashes so cnt see it,

it then reboots and asks me to start normally or launch system repair, when i launch system repair it does its thing reboots then it works,

but 2 days later same thing will happen ?

i have not updated drivers lately nor installed anything new, the only thing i can think of is maybe a program i already have is auto updating and clashing with something,

ill try turn auto restart thing off and get the blue screen code.

laptop is a compaq presairo c500 1Gb RAM celeron processor. vista home premium (no previous problems) nothing i can think of thats causing it,,,,,,,, n e ideas

possibly a windows update that didnt install properly maybe i dunno it's odd that it doesnt do it every day just every 2 days

So you can't read what the blue screen says because it is flashing?
Sounds like a video driver problem, perhaps.

no its coz i had auto reboot on error turned on its now turned off so next time will be able to see it,

well its not constant every 2 days between 1 and 3 days its just strange its not every time i reboot only after a day or so like it needs time say everyday at 03.00 update lol.

i dunno ill wait till next time n post the error code on blue screeen

well possibly as i say i currently have no idea what it could be jus have to wait for the code now

Was your laptop plugged into an outlet because a power surge can cause windows to BS.
But why its happening every 2-3 days is beyond me.

it was plugged in but chances of 3 power surges in like 7 days ?
