I'm getting 2x 1024. Then there will be room left for upgrading. The bad side is that the latencies in 1024 sticks are usually higher than in the 512 sticks.

YA! i always ask that question. well 2 gig? i think four 512. think, like 2 big foldr's. or 4 small folders. i just idk i would go with the 512's

Because, you can run each pair of 512 in dual channel, correct?

You should be able to run all 4 sticks in dual channel. I remember reading about that somewhere, but that was awhile back.
