Ram for gaming PC?

For the money you are spending on components, I would buy an Alienware and get it over and done with.

It will end up being creaper then buying everything from Newegg.

I am also looking into some ram for my new intense gaming PC. I have looked and like the corsair XMS series ram. I am looking at this:

do you think 4 sticks of this is great not good for intense gaming?

you wouldn't need more than 1 gb for gaming..... what really matters in games is your graphics card, you'll want a good graphics card.

and Alienware is a waste of money and you won't spend that much building one yourself.

TommyBoy, I would say that in the past but Alienware has done a lot to reduce their prices and keep the performance very high.

Plus is comes with lots of software that someone putting together a new would have to do anyways.

Since he has asked questions on every component, I thought I would throw out a different solution. Sounds like he is not quite sure what's going on and how things really work together.

I know exactly what you are talking about killerdoberman becuase i am a newb. I dont really know what i am talking about and that is why i am trying to learn from people like you. I dont really want an alienware becuase I want to have a say in what goes into my computer, and after researching the price I beleive building is cheaper. Besides my friend is the one building for me (professional computer programer) has all of the software and programs I will ever need. Plus he lives very close so if I ever have trouble with anything he is going to help me out. I am doing this to have a kick ass gaming computer and to start learning about building and servicing computers. Thankyou for the advice though.

Anyway so you think only 2 sticks or dimms not sure if this is the right term, would be good for intense gaming?

LOL, Cobra, I think you overreacted.LMAO!! That was like a Britsh comedy though (Cobra, tsk, watch that slimy mouth!!, LMAOROFL, HAHA, Funny though) Ok, blp, here is the best ram on the market, well, both are the best, your choice. If you want ram, get lots now, while it is cheap (technology prices are at an all time low).

here are 3 links to the 3 BEST TYPES of RAM on the market currently (I am not including Corsair in this because honestly, think about it, the Corsair is cheap and it really isn't all that great)

YOU WANT THE BEST BLP, HERE YA GO, BUT DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU ABOUT THE PRICE:: LMAO, WEEE!

BTW, all of these are kits (2X512), so you would want to get 2 of these kits for a ton of RAM.

GEIL RAM -http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-144-332&depa=1

KINGSTON RAM- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-144-161&depa=1

OK, this last one is THE BEST OUT THERE, and thus, is not sold in kits, and is extremely expensive. You want the best, get 4 of these things, and your PC will scream!!-http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-546&depa=1

Ok, get those, and you will have most of us topped.
