I found this lap top @ walmart:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=12961482#Specifications

Seems like a good price, but I know how big box stores can trick people with the way they display things.

What kind of audio / video quality should I expect from this lap top?

Any other sugestions?

Budget ($750 MAX)
Would like:

Blu-ray (don't need)
play the best quality audio and video on my TV and 7.1 Surround Sound System through HDMI. I have a Xbox with netflix and I'm trying to eliminate my need for cable. I would like to browse Hulu / Youtube ect. from the couch and play it on the big screen.

Whenever I think of HP I think of printers, and this http://gizmodo.com/5406415/laptop-reliability-study-asus-and-toshiba-come-out-on-top

I've always been an ASUS man so here's my biased opinion. It's got a dedicated video card with 1GB DDR2 VRAM to it and an HDMI port so it can handle porting to an HDTV really well.

Cheap yet effective I think for your purposes. Sure it's near the top of your budget, but those HDTV's love that 1GB VRAM. 512mb might not be enough.

+1 ASUS...
and as said before, make sure it has 1gb VRAM for hi-res displays

Another thing you might want to look for is SPDIF optical output since you are using 7.1 channel surround. Trust me, it sounds a heck of a lot better than anything else out there.
