What really is the advantage to having a processor with more ghz? Like mine has 2.4 ghz, whats the advantage of having a processor with 3.4 ghz? Whats it going to do for you?

meh i can live with 2.4 ghz, the gig and a half of ram make up for the lack of speed of my processor. (Had a gig before, just put more in)

Depends what processor you have. If you have intel, then 2.8-3.4 would be the optimum speed. But for AMD, 2.0-2.6 would be the optimum. BTW ghz dont matter. Its the number of processes the CPU can do that matters. Intel admitted that, and now they dont label their CPU's by ghz. They use the numbers like 530 or 515 or something like that.

o okay. SO then it doesn't really matter too much then. And I don't normally run multiple processes at once. thanks.
