Since I reformatted my computer my monitor has had swiggly lines on it all the time and when I bump the resolution to 1024 x 768... and I can't change any settings or install drivers for it or anything.

Look: It just says Default monitor instead of Plug & Play monitor or whatever it said before I reformatted...

This is the screenshot from Display properties in the Control Panel.

When I click advanced to install the drivers and view information on my monitor, it is greyed out. Look at this screenshot:

Thanks for reading..

If I didn't have video card drivers, nothing would show? Would it?

Sorry I've never started fresh before...

Yes they would. You need to download the most recent drivers for your Video Card. Without drivers stuff will show but it will be bad quality, big, and not able to have good resolution.

You would disable onboard video by going to device manager, and then reboot your comp. Then just download current drivers from ati's website, and install. Then you should be able to set the resolution to 1024 x 768 then.
