Problem with laptop screen

I have a Toshiba Satelliate A85-S1072 and the screen is acting weird. The majority of the screen works fine. However, on the left side there is a dark stripe from top to bottom of the screen. I can still see what is on the screen but it is extra dark. I am wanting to know if anyone has had this problem before. My daughter knocked it only the floor and it started doing this afterwards. I've tried to do a screen print to see if it was coming from the desktop but there isn't a dark spot there. It seems to be coming from the display itself.

It is the display. The pixels on that line are dead. There is nothing you can do about it except replace the screen. (I believe)

I am not sure though, maybe somebody else knows a way out of it.
