power supply

i built a computer with
3000+ AMD athlon 64
Ram
Motherboard
Graphics Card
80g hard drive
52x32x52x lite on cd rw

I used the same case as my old computer with a 300watt power supply
my graphics card requires a 450watt power supply though. Could this cause any damage to my parts, or any other problems?

well i tested it and it would randomly restart and it said files were currupted, i looked at the temps and they were fine, graphics=51, cpu=38, MOBO=27.

Im sure that graphics card doesnt need 450 watts of power.

Hey,

I must say a graphics card that requires 450 Watt power, that's unusual.

You can actually get a PCI Express x16 Graphics card which only requires a 150Watt power supply.

As for your computer just restarting and saying files were corrupt, this would not be down to a lack of power supply, as only a power surge really has the ability to corrupt files.

Possibly a corrupt operating system.
