While my CPU was out I think I may have bent a pin on the motherboard, so I try to put it back then put the processor in clamp it down then take it out all the pins look like they lineup. I put everything back together and the computer will start up up all of the fans run, the memory is going, but there are no beeps and no video is displayed. The reason my processor was out was because I was lapping it, could either the bent pins or sanding the cpu cause any of this problem?

What was your lapping procedure?

Any chance there is grit in the socket?

Did you touch any of the cpu contacts? (assuming Skt 775)

I just removed everything from the case, bent the pins back as best as I could, and reseated everything, and it booted, thank god lol, cause I have no money to be buying a new motherboard right now, and the lapping turned out awesome, knocked a few degrees off my idle and load temperatures!

Sanding down the cpu heatsink so its smooth, it transfers heat better.

I did take my cpu out of the motherboard to do it lol, I was probably unclear in my post, I was in a rush to get it typed out :p
