Please make them go away

Hello all

I just recently installed two programs on my brand new labtop which is running Windows Vista Home Premium edition. Once installed a desktop shortcut was created. Now that I uninstalled the programs the same shortcuts are still on my desktop. If I try to drag the file into the recycle bin I recieve the following message:

Could not find this item. This is no longer located in C: (wherever it was installed). Verify the items location and try again.

Anyone know how I can get rid of these pesky files?

try a restart, mabey that would work.

if not, go into the control panal / programs and utilities / unistall / and find the programs and see if there still there. if so, delete them, then try again

You could right click on the shortcut, go to properties, then change the path to a program which is on your laptop, for example windows media player, then just delete the shortcut to that.
