PC to TV

Hi,

Maybe someone on here with more knowledge then me can help me...

I'm trying to connect my pc to my tv set.. my tv is a

Baird x42 wide screen LCD TV

and in the book it says i can connect my pc to it..so ive gone out and bought a SVGA lead to do it, wich cost's 40 quid.... Ive done evrything it says to do in the book but its not working (nothing is showing up)

Have i gone the right way to do this....

Do u have an nvidia card? (sorry dont know about ati) did u go into the control panel for the gfx card, right clicking on the desktop normally brings up a menu where u can access the control panel, there is a section in there called set up multiple displays (i think) u can then select the monitor/tv u want to use as ur primary display.
