Online videos

So my latest problem is that I cannot view videos being played online, like in a stand alone windows media player, I can hear the audio and of course the video is being 'played' but the screen where the video would be showing is black.

I've reinstalled my video drivers and tinked around with anything else I could think of...anyone else have a suggestion or two?

you might need to download a codec for windows media player

Well the only reason I didn't think it would be a codec issue is that it is all stand alone movies (except for .mpg's which are ported to my lousy apple player)

But nevertheless I went and searched for some wmp codecs and it is showing that my wmp 10 is up to date with everything and the codecs I found were for past releases.
